Do not buy sourdough starter, find a baker that will give it away or make your own, its actually quite easy, I recommend the book Flour, Water, Salt and Yeast by Ken Forkish, it's great and will tell you everything you need to_know.

How long does Boudin Sourdough Bread last? 2-3 days

Is Boudin real sourdough? Boudin Sourdough is made with unbleached flour, pure water, salt, and some of the original mother dough, and does not contain any preservatives. Our breads will stay fresh at room temperature for as long as 2-3 days if they're kept away from heat and_humidity.

How do you ship sourdough bread? Pack it well: To keep thebread from drying out or going stale, we recommend our friend Tim's method, which consists of wrapping it first in a paper bag, then in a plastic trash bag. Place this in a sturdy box and if there is excess space, add padding material so thebread doesn't get knocked around.

How do you start a sourdough starter? Once a week, remove your sourdough starter from the fridge, pour into a bowl and feed it with 1 cup of whole wheat flour and 3/4 to 1 cup of water (the thicker starter above was fed the 1 to 3/4 c. ratio), stirring well. Leave it to grow and become active again 12 to 24 hours before using it in a_recipe.
