Irish Setters are only moderate shedders. Their hair is fine and they don't usually have a very thick undercoat. If you brush them regularly there isn't a lot of-shedding.

Is it OK to shave a double coated dog? Shaving a double-coated breed can really ruin the coat. If you do shave your double coated dog, the new hair will grow back but the undercoat will grow first. The texture of the soft undercoat will absorb the sun's rays, making your dog hotter in summer. Shaving a double coated dog does not reduceshedding.

Does a Goldendoodle have a double coat? The Goldendoodle can have either a thick Retriever like coat (this may not be hypoallergenic) or a loosely curled coat (hypoallergenic). As these dogs have a dense, double coat that is highly prone tomatting or trapping of dirt, they require a lot of grooming.

Can an Irish setter live in an apartment? The Irish Setter is not recommended for apartment life unless the owners are active daily joggers or bikers and plan on taking the dog along with them. This breed does best with a_large yard.
