The Inca had 7 main types of weapons. These weapons included the bronze or bone-tipped spears, clubs, bows and arrows, dart throwers, two-handed wooden swords with serrated edges, wooden slings and stones, and stone or copper headed battleaxes. There armor consisted of cotton, animal skins, palm, wood, andmetal.

What was Inca armor made of? The armor was designed primarily to protect the torso of the warrior from obsidian swords, arrows and atlatl darts, it was made of successive layers of cotton and jute which would gradually slow and trap the arrows, rather than divert them, like European plate armour.

Did the Incas have Warriors? This imperial guard, consisting entirely of men belonging to the nobility, reached a size of 10,000 warriors. All members of the Inca Army were between 25 and 50 years old. All of the empire's citizens had to perform either military or community-service.

How many Incas were there? The Incas were a very small percentage of the total population of the empire, probably numbering only 15,000 to 40,000, but ruling a_population of around 10 million people.

Why are the Incas important? In less than a century, during the 1400s, they built one of the largest, most tightly controlled empires the world has ever known. Their skill in government was matched by their feats of engineering. Roads, walls, andirrigation works constructed by the Incas are still in use today.
