Lawrencium was synthesized in 1961 by Albert Ghiorso, Torbjørn Sikkeland, Almon Larsh and Robert Latimer at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, California. Itwas the last member of the actinide series to be discovered.

What is the most radioactive element? Polonium

What block are transition metals in? Many scientists describe a "transition metal" as any element in the d-block of the periodic table, which includes groups 3 to 12 on the periodic table. In actual practice, the f-block lanthanide and actinide series arealso considered transition metals and are called "inner transition metals".

Why is lutetium so expensive? The most expensive natural element is francium, but it decays so quickly it can't be collected to be sold. If you could buy it, you'd pay billions of dollars for100 grams. The most expensive natural element that is stable enough to purchase is lutetium. Atoms of synthetic elements cost millions of dollars to produce.
