Term used to describe bulbs that come back each year, usually with agreater number of flowers than before. Daffodils and crocuses are two great examples. Annual bulbs only grow for one season, which means you have to plant new bulbs every year to get the same effect.

How tall do crocus grow? It blooms in late winter andearly spring and grows 3 inches tall.

Will dried out bulbs grow? If thebulb is still firm and plump, it can most likely be planted successfully. The bulb should not be planted if it smells bad or is squishy or mushy, or if it is dry and shriveled.

Do tulips come back year after year? As duly noted in horticultural texts, the tulip is a perennial plant. This means that a tulip should be expected to-return and bloom year after year. For all intents and purposes, however, this isn't always the case. Tulip-lovers typically treat them as annuals, re-planting them every fall.

Do daffodils multiply? Daffodils multiply in two ways: asexual cloning (bulb division) where exact copies of the flower will result, and sexually (from seed) where new, different flowers willresult. Each will produce an entirely new plant - but it takes about five years for a plant grown from seed to bloom! D
